ZOU IGP Côtes de Gascogne Blanc
Product Details
Product Description
Colombard grapes are predominantly produced in the Côte de Gascogne area of the South-West of France. The region has a fantastic reputation for fresh white wines. Capable of adapting to the hot climate, it provides nice acidity with lovely flavors. The resulting wines are crisp and fresh, with very intense aromas of lime, nectarine, and grapefruit.
Gascony is both wild and beautiful all at the same time… With its rolling countryside dotted with maritime pine and cypress trees, its luxurious vineyards and medieval hilltop towns, the area is one of the most preserved French treasures. Home to viticulture since Roman times, the IGP Cotes de Gascogne shares the same area of production as the Armagnac appellation. Gascony is also famous for its rich gastronomy and its “douceur de vivre” or easy living atmosphere.
WINEMAKING
The grapes are harvested during the night when the temperatures are low to avoid oxidation. They are pressed in a modern pneumatic press. Only the best free-run juices are selected. After 24h of settling, the clear juices are drawn from the tanks and left to ferment for 15 days between 13°C and 15°C. Again, the juices are drawn from the tanks to age on their fine lees for 3 months, with regular stirring.
