- It is an aged rum, macerated with pineapples and mangos, it is sweet and fruity with hints of spices and a short, warm finish. The unparalleled vibrancy, character and quality of Pango Rhum are truly indicative of the superior ingredients and production process.
- In 1862, Dupré Barbancourt founded a rum distillery in Haiti bearing his name. He applied the traditional French distillation method to sugar cane juice and the aging process in oak barrels from Limousin, as practiced in the production of cognac in his native Charente.
- An aged rum, carefully flavored with pineapples and mangos, it is sweet and fruity with hints of spices and a short warm finish. Pango Rhum is part of the Rhum Barbancourt family. It is made from pure sugar cane juice (not molasses like most rums) and aged in oak casks. Once it is aged, this dark rum is then hand blended with natural mango and pineapple. The result is a refreshingly smooth rum bursting with flavor, with an unparalleled vibrancy, character and quality that are truly indicative of the superior ingredients and production process.
- To ensure freshness, sugar canes harvested from a 600-hectare plantation are delivered directly to the distillery. Half of it (those growing in fields around or close to the distillery) reach it by mules only. The other half (coming from other parts of the islands) are transported by mules to the tractor, then on the tractor cart to the distillery. The canes are immediately crushed to obtain sugar cane juice, called vesou. This juice is then fermented with an exclusive Barbancourt yeast that brings out fruity aromas. After distillation, the resulting rum is then left to age in oak barrels.

- For almost 160 years, the Barbancourt distillery has been passing on its unique know-how, inherited from its founder Dupré Barbancourt, from generation to generation. The first generations defined and refined the Barbancourt style. In the 1950s, Jean Gardère gave a new dimension to the estate through industrialization while his son, Thierry Gardère, increased production capacity. His granddaughter, Delphine Gardère (current guardian of the estate’s heritage and know-how), has inspired a more modern and international dimension to the distillery and to the Barbancourt brand.
